At Radio Tunr, we take your privacy seriously. We designed Tunr from the ground up with a minimal data footprint — we collect only what is necessary. Below, we explain in plain language what happens with your information.

Data controller

What data we collect

Very little. We use approximate location to show you stations near you — and only when you choose to share it. Your favorite stations stay on your device and never reach our servers. On the server side, we only record anonymous playback statistics — after one minute of listening we note that a station was played, to track its popularity in real time.

Location

We ask for coarse location access to display stations from your country and nearby local stations. Everything is processed on your device — we never store this information on our servers. If you prefer not to share your location, no problem — the app works just as well with all other features.

What we store on your device

Your favorite stations, theme preference, and search radius are saved locally on your device using secure system mechanisms. This data never leaves your phone.

What we process on the server

IP addresses are used solely for rate limiting excessive requests to the same station from a single device. We do not use IP addresses for user identification, profiling, or any other purpose.

Crash reporting

In release builds, we use Sentry to collect anonymous crash information — error type, stack trace, and basic device details (OS version, app version). No personally identifiable information is ever included in crash reports. This data is used exclusively to diagnose issues and improve app stability.

Advertising

The web version of Tunr displays ads through Google AdSense, which may use cookies and similar technologies to personalize ads and analyze their effectiveness. The mobile apps contain no ads and do not serve any advertising.

Third-party services

Tunr relies on third-party services that each have their own privacy policies: Sentry (crash reporting), Google AdSense (web advertising), and radio stream providers. We encourage you to review their policies if you have concerns.

Listening to radio stations

When you listen to a station in Tunr, you connect directly to that station's original stream. This means their privacy policy may apply to your connection — keep that in mind. We do not host or control station content; we simply help you find and play it.

Do we share your data

No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone for marketing purposes. We use it only to keep the app running and improving.

How long we keep data

Local data — favorite stations, theme preference, and search radius — stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Anonymous playback statistics are used solely for station popularity rankings and cannot identify any individual user.

Your rights

You have full control over your data. No account is required to use Tunr. You can clear your favorites at any time in the app settings. If you want to completely remove all data, simply uninstall the app.
